Lab Members - Ling Ma
Dr. Ling Ma joined our group in early 2005 after finishing a postdoctoral position with Professor Fred Hawthorne (UCLA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry). Ling received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Brandeis University (Waltham, MA), where she worked on generating chiral supramolecular assemblies for second-order nonlinear optics and chiral sensing. During her brief time with our group, Ling worked out the synthesis of novel compounds designed to capture proteins selectively from complex mixtures. These reagents have potential to be used to identify new protein targets for drug discovery.
Our Resident Folksinger is now happily employed as a Senior Scientist at Insert Therapeutics in Pasadena, CA.
