Muhammad joined the Loo lab in Spring 2019. Muhammad's research interests lie in the fundamentals of mass spectrometry; more specifically understanding electrospray ionisation mechanisms and electron dissociation mechanisms to enhance both top-down and bottom-up protein sequencing experiments. He also has interests in paleoproteomics and science education.

He completed a Bachelor of Science from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia majoring in microbiology and chemistry in 2013. He then moved to The University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia to complete an Honours research degree in Chemistry, and his PhD in Chemistry under the guidance of Dr. Alex Donald.

When not doing research, he enjoys mountain bikes, motorcycles, reading books and baking bread.
